bezahl.de among the three finalists of the startup pitch at the 15th Private Equity Conference

Once a year, the NRW Bank, together with the Private Equity Forum NRW, awards the prize for the most innovative startup of the year. Over 70 up-and-coming startups from a wide variety of areas applied for the award and were evaluated by a specialist jury. bezahl.de was able to convince with its sustainable business model and finally secured third place. A great recognition of the work of the aspiring team around the two founders Lasse Diener and Ulrich Schmidt.

The Private Equity Conference was held digitally for the first time this year - in keeping with the topic "Venture Capital - Fuel for Digitization". At virtual exhibition stands, visitors could contact exhibitors via video chat and view and download information material. The virtual trade fair stand was also a premiere for the team at pay.de. Designed in the bezahl.de colors, it attracted attention and gave visitors an understanding of the added value of the payment management solution.
A live stream of the conference program was also shown on the virtual stage. After Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, Economics Minister of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, and Michael Stölting, Member of the Board of Directors of NRW.BANK, who opened the conference from the studio in Düsseldorf, included interesting expert presentations. The focus here was on topics such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the economic effects of Corona.
The heart of the program was the award ceremony for the startup pitch, which all participants were looking forward to with anticipation. Professional pitch videos of the finalists were recorded in advance and presented to the visitors at the conference for voting. In the three-minute video, Lasse Diener, CEO and co-founder of the startup, presents bezahl.de and his vision. He is supported by Ralf Brandenburg, Managing Director of Hans Brandenburg GmbH, a long-standing cooperation partner. The audience decision was close and once again caused the hearts of the finalists who watched live to pound. In the end, the pay.de team was able to secure third place.

We are far from having reached the end of our journey and are doing everything we can to further advance the digitization of payment processes," says Lasse Diener, summarizing the successful participation in the pitch.
